Link Highlight: Interactive History Maps

I came across a site that offers interactive history maps for the eastern hemisphere. History buffs who also happen to love geography and cartography will appreciate this stuff.

The site has spot maps for laying out empires and timeline based maps for showing things such as migration patterns for people and wars.

A few examples of the timeline maps are:

  • The Unification of Germany
  • The Migration of the Slavs
  • Spread of the Black Death
  • World War II in Europe and North Africa
I think history students and would find this site both fascinating and informative. If this site has awoken your inner cartographer, let us know in the comments.
